HIGH TIDES offers Compassionate Cannabis Care in Gualala, CA. We are a fully stocked Collective offering a wide selection of products and services, including CBD consultations.

Located at the gateway to the Emerald Triangle, HIGH TIDES is in southern Mendocino county — which along with Humboldt and Trinity counties– is renowned worldwide for our outdoor cannabis production. Growers have been cultivating cannabis plants in this region since the 1960s, when the “Summer of Love” hippies decided to go “back to the land” oh so many decades ago.

However, the cannabis industry really took root in the Emerald Triangle with the passage of California Proposition 215, or the Compassionate Use Act of 1996, which legalized use of cannabis for medicinal purposes in California. California Proposition 215 was the first medical marijuana ballot initiative passed at the state level; causing the first of many conflict between states’ rights advocates and those who support a stronger federal presence.

On November 8, 2016, the majority of California voters passed Proposition 64 – The Control, Regulate and Tax Adult Use of Marijuana Act (Prop 64).  Prop 64 permits adults 21 years of age and over to possess and grow specified amounts of marijuana for recreational use. Prop 64 does not alter the Compassionate Use Act (Prop 215) or the Medical Marijuana Regulation and Safety Act (MMRSA).

It doesn’t really matter whether OG stands for “Ocean Grown”, “Original Ganstata” or “Original Genetics”, because growing and processing cannabis right here in the coastal Mendocino region of The Emerald Triangle is considered a way of life; and we locals recognize that pretty much everyone living in our area is either directly or indirectly reliant on the marijuana business.
